We spoke to Laura about what she loves most about her local area and the Love & Co team.
What do you love about living/working in Preston?
The suburb is an absolute gem, a truly vibrant place to live/work offering a great deal for everyone from all walks of life. With an array of real estate available from trendy apartments, modern/sleek townhouses and million-dollar period homes, there is literally something to cater for everyone’s wants/needs. Home to a wonderful community and relatively situated close to the CBD, Preston still offers a suburban feel but with the luxury of an ever-growing collection of cool urban cafes, restaurants and popular stalls at Preston Market.
What does a typical day at work look like for you (pre-Covid)?
No one day is ever the same in real estate especially in sales as there really are no set start/finish times, that said a typical work day for myself starts off with a strong coffee or two. Followed by making/answering numerous phone calls, attending to emails and covering multiple appointments consisting of sales valuations, buyer inspections and client meetings throughout the entire day. Effectively my day consists of liaising with clients in trying to achieve their property goals by offering advice and providing solutions relative to their needs and wants.
How are you working with the current restrictions? Do you think there will be any positives that will come from this time?
It’s business as usual but in an unusual way and whilst working from home has its challenges especially for an industry where onsite and in person meetings make up more than 60% of our workload, thanks to technology we are still able to work and service our clients from home. Being able to have the time to now nurture client relationships to a greater level than ever before means our customer service will be at all-time high. Positives will come from these restrictions for those who are adaptable and persevere, with limited stock currently on the market demand seems to be outweighing supply creating a window of opportunity for a limited time.
What do you like most about working at Love & Co?
Having now worked for Love & Co for close to 10 years what I enjoy most working for the company is how till this day we are still a family owned agency upholding the very same family and community core values established back in 1945. Being a part of an agency that shares a true connection with the people and suburbs we service in the North over numerous decades is truly something I am proud to be affiliated with as we continue to build a legacy on service and results, not just promises.
What are the most important skills and qualities that you feel make your team successful?
I’m truly grateful for the team I work alongside, we work so closely together that we see ourselves as family rather than just colleagues, it is this very perspective that allows us to openly collaborate together in a fun environment enabling us to achieve our goals by delivering exceptional service to all our clients. By working hard, collectively holding each other accountable, being honest, supportive, committed and empathic towards one another there is no doubt this has contributed to our continued success as a team.
What’s your favourite local business and why?
I can’t go past the crew at Pausa Pranzo cafe, it truly is a little slice of Italy with its authentic Italian cuisine and not to mention mouth-watering coffee. Mauro and his staff offer outstanding customer service and have carefully crafted a brilliant community vibe, not to mention all the treats on offer that are made true to their origins in the Mediterranean. It’s an outstanding business that is frequently sought after, I highly recommended paying a visit.
