Love&Co on Northside Markets
Melbourne’s northside has much to offer its community – particularly on the market and fresh produce front! With farmers markets galore and food truck aplenty, you won’t soon run out of places to find your next meal or stock up on veggies for the week – particularly after reading this Love&Co local expert blog!
Preston Market
Opening in 1970, Preston Market remains one of the most famous and best-loved markets in Melbourne. It features a wide variety of food, fashion and speciality shops for you to browse – in addition to fine live music from buskers and a buzzy atmosphere. Enjoy a fresh, delicious coffee from Calavera café before heading home and cooking up a storm with your market purchases. Preston Market is open 5 days a week with ample parking and public transport available.
Coburg Farmers Market
The Coburg Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 9am at Coburg Primary School. With produce hailing from across Victoria up for grabs, expect to find an array of fresh veggies, baked goods and cheeses from stallholders. Don’t forget to bring your own reusable bags, as Coburg Farmers Market is a plastic-free event. Child and dog friendly.
Flemington Farmers Market
The Flemington Farmers Market is open for business every Sunday from 9am – 1pm at Mount Alexander College with an array of stallholders selling fresh fruit and veg plus ready-to-eat goodies like gozlemes and crepes. You can be sure that you’re buying quality produce and goods as this market was the first to be established with Victoria Farmers’ Market Association accreditation. Dogs are welcome, so long as they’re on a lead! That’s your Sunday morning sorted – click here for a list of this week’s stallholders.
Melbourne Market – Epping
This is not your usual ‘stroll-around-with-your-basket’ market – but a one-stop-shop for business owners as a wholesale market. The Melbourne Market trades to more than 4,000 businesses from restaurant owners and chefs to fruit and veggie shops, providing a link between growers, wholesalers and retailers.
Preston Food Truck Park
Not a traditional market as such – but a funky venue offering Melbourne’s latest food trucks week after week. Fully licensed with indoor and outdoor seating to cater for the ever-changing weather, the Preston Food Truck Park is ideal for your next local night out with friends, sampling our city’s tastiest meals.
