A Love Anniversary – 18 years with Dimitra Kalakias

Starting part-time in the industry in 2001 at the age of just 15, Dimitra Kalakias has become an integral team member of the Love & Co network.

And with her career at Love & Co also comes a love story of her very own – having met her now husband!

Dimitra is delighted to be part of such a respected, progressive company with a supportive corporate culture and will be forever grateful to Love & Co for giving her such an amazing opportunity to begin her real estate career at such a young age.

In celebration of her 18 year work anniversary with Love & Co, we took a moment to chat about the “ins and outs” of her time with the network:

After 18 years at Love & Co, what would you say has been the highlight?
Without a doubt, I would have to say it was meeting my husband 😊

What motivates you to come to work each day?
My family and being there for our work family.

What is your favourite part of your job?
Knowing I’ve made a big contribution to helping our customers achieve their ultimate goal.

The importance of local knowledge cannot be overstated when it comes to selling real estate. Do you agree?
1000% no one can truly know the North more than a resident does and even more so someone who has grown up here.

What do you love most about the North?
How much it’s evolved over the years! As a lifelong local, I love the North and watching its growth over the years, the improvement in infrastructure and the enhanced quality of property, making it an increasingly desirable place to call home.

What are the things you’ve done at work that you’re the proudest about?
Organically growing our rent roll and becoming Head of Department.

How do you manage work/life balance? How flexible is your work arrangement?
Before becoming a Mum I worked full-time for 15 years straight, obviously, now my priorities have shifted. I’ve limited my hours, and changed my role and that way have been able to enjoy every precious moment of our daughter’s early life and I wouldn’t change a thing! Real Estate is in my blood and I still love coming to work as much as ever.

What do you love doing the most in your work?
I love being there for the staff and supporting them when and where needed.

Have you made any long-term connections/friendships with your colleagues?
Most definitely! I am blessed to have formed beautiful friendships through working at Love & Co which I will cherish for life.
