A Celebration of Motherhood
As Mother’s Day approaches this weekend, we wanted to celebrate the role of a mother figure and the rollercoaster of emotions that come with it – the joy, the laughter, the tears and melt-downs, the sacrifices, the multi-tasking, and ultimately, the unexplainable deeper kind of love between a mother and child.
And so we reached out to some of the amazing working mums within the Love & Co network to share their take on motherhood and their most memorable Mother’s Day moments.

Mum of 4
“Being a mother of 4 definitely has its days. Constantly focused on the kids hobbies, interests and happiness is something a mother just does naturally. Mother’s Day is probably one of my favourite days of the year! I get extremely spoilt for the day with the family.
My most memorable Mother’s Day gifts have come from daycare, kinder and school Mother’s Day stalls when all the kids have handpicked or made the gifts.”

“Being a mum of two beautiful girls (10 and 18 years old) has been the best gift in my life. Some days are harder than others, but seeing my girls grow through the years and guiding them has been so rewarding and I love celebrating their successes with them.
My most favourite Mother’s Day experiences are in more recent years as now they are older they allow me to sleep in and then cook me a delicious breakfast which they serve me in bed. I do not even have to do the washing up!”

Mum of 3
“Being a mum to my 3 beautiful kids is the most important and amazing job in the world. I absolutely love the endless laughs, kisses, hugs and entertainment daily. But the best part is the unconditional love we have for each other.
Every year on Mother’s day my kids bring me breakfast in bed with their handmaid gifts and they are so proud of the little creations, this is the Best Mother’s day gift I could ever wish for!”

Mum to be!
“I am most excited about teaching our son love and compassion and shaping his mind to be a respectful boy growing up. I cannot wait to bond with our bubba and create memories and enjoy being a kid myself again with watching all the kid shows and movies! I also cant wait to see how our relationship grows and cannot wait to start family traditions.
I am sure I will change my mind when our baby comes and want to be at a day spa all day for Mother’s Day haha but right now, I would love to just spend the day with him going on adventures and reliving my childhood all over again.”

Mum of 2
“Seeing my children grown into kind and generous people, they astound me continuously with their achievements. So much pride and love for these two that call me MUM!
I have lots of memories, but who can forget the infectious excitement of primary age children, waking you up at the crack of dawn to present you with a cuppa, the latest handmade handicraft and their purchase from the school stall, which there was a high chance that I donated. Got to love it!”

Mum of 3
“Being a Mum to three wonderful children has been the most rewarding part of my life. There has been no greater gift than watching all my children grow and develop into loving, empathetic and compassionate individuals. Each Mother’s Day is special as I am surrounded by the people I love most who remind me just how lucky I am to be a mum.
(I don’t have a recent photo of 2 of my children as they are adults and I have just realised we don’t take many photos!)”

“Being a mum of 2 girls aged 13 and 11 is keeping me on my toes. My girls are so thoughtful, responsible, independent and funny and I have loved watching them grow through every phase.
Every Mothers Day they let me sleep in and then, bring me toast and a cup of tea. We either chill out and watch movies or go into the city and do something both myself and they will enjoy.”

“The most wonderful thing about being a mother is watching your once babies who relied on you for everything grow into independent, confident, caring and creative little humans, developing friendships, navigating school and being proud of themselves. I couldn’t ask for anything more except time, time is truly a thief and as they get older if feels like every moment with them is even more special and precious!
Every Mother’s Day I receive a beautiful breakfast in bed, with a bit of help from Dad, but recently they have taken to randomly making me breakfast by themselves which can sometimes get interesting mixing savory and sweet, but it is the most precious gift seeing them so proud of themselves with what they have created! My most memorable Mother’s Day was my first, waking up in hospital to my day-old son, I couldn’t quite believe he was here and he was perfect!”
